what is backbiting in islam, and what is the punishment for backbiting?
"Today's society is quite skilled at backbiting, but many are unaware of the severity of the penalty. Today, everyone needs to be aware of this. We will know backbiting relationships."
Definition of backbiting: "backbiting" means to mention the fault of a person to another person unnecessarily. Ibn al-Ashir said: "Slander is to mention something to a person in his absence that he dislikes, even though it exists in him". These definitions are mainly taken from hadith. The Prophet (peace be upon him) introduced backbiting and said, "Backbiting is describing the behavior of your brother, which he knows is bad."
Consequences of backbiting: Allah Ta'ala says, 'None of you should backbite anyone; does any of you want him to eat the flesh of his dead brother? You hate it. [Surah Hujurat, 12] This verse proves that backbiting is like eating the flesh of a dead person.
Backbiting is the cause of punishment in hell. - Rasulullah (SAW) reported: "I passed by some persons during the Miraj who were ripping their cheeks and chests with their brass-nailed hands. I asked Gabriel, Who are these? He said, "These are the ones who used to eat human flesh and destroy their dignity."
Abdullah Ibn Mas'ud (RA) said: (Once, we were near the Prophet." In this situation, a person got up and left. One criticized him after his departure. Then the Messenger of Allah (ï·º) said to him, "Grill your teeth." The man said, For what reason will the teeth be khilal? I did not eat any meat. Then he said, Surely you have eaten the flesh of your brother, i.e., you have slandered.
Backbiting is punishable in the grave.
Once the Messenger of Allah (ï·º) was passing by two graves, suddenly he stopped and said, 'These two grave dwellers are being punished. But they are not being punished for any major crime, which makes it easy for them to survive. One of them is being punished for cheating, and the other is being punished for being careless about urination. (Do not avoid splashing urine.) Another hadith mentions gossiping instead of gossiping.
Muslim, Abu Dawud, Tirmidhi (Hadith Sahih)
After the above discussion, it was immediately understood that backbiting is completely haram.
May Allah Ta'ala grant us all Tawfeek to save us from backbiting. Amen
15 strategies to control backbiting!
- Practice not sleeping after Fajr. Kailula (a light afternoon nap) can be done if needed.

Think about how much Allah Subhanahu wa Tayala loves us. He has sent a prophet of mercy (pbuh) to this world who loves his ummah so much. Because of his love, he told the believing servants how easy and simple it was to become residents of paradise with him. If he did not give this direction, would we ever be able to think about paradise? He told us the way to do deeds, but we have to do our own deeds. In life, if we really love Allah and His Messenger (peace be upon him), then we will definitely try to follow their instructions to the letter. Let's prepare to be residents of Jannah, ignoring everything. Inshallah, we will see each other in the world of paradise, by the grace of Allah.
May Allah Almighty grant us all entry into Jannah. Amen
