The whole world is like a river flowing down. And in the middle of that flowing river stands a tree. whose roots are deeply rooted in the soil. The rocks are rolling away, the fish are rolling away, and everyone is lost in the current, but the tree stands tall.
A believer in today's world is like a person clinging to a tree. Because you are holding this book of Allah. "Asluha sabitun wa faruha fis samai- اَصرلُهَا ثَابِتٌ وَّ فَرْعُهَا فِی السَّمَآءِ - Whose root is firmly established and whose branches extend into the sky." (14:24)
As long as you hold tight to the tree, you will survive. Feel the pressure. But don't get lost. What happens when you give up a little? Get lost in the bun like everyone else. A little further now, a little more later, then a little more... it will only take you down.
Being a member of this Ummah means that we will feel this current pressure. The stress will come, and it will only get worse day by day. The worse the situation, the tighter we must cling to the Book of Allah.Otherwise, I will fall and be thrown into the ultimate fall.
As Allah says elsewhere in the Qur'an, فَخَلَفَ مِنْۢ بَناعدِهِمۡ خَلۡفٌ اَضَاعُوا الصَّلٰوۃَ وَ اتَّبَعُوا الشَّهَوٰتِ فَسَوفرَ يَلْقَوْنَ غَيًّ - Then, after them, came those who were unjust; they lost prayer and indulged in lust. They will soon face destruction. (19:59)
Which was the first fall? prayer The next more heinous fall is, فَسَوْفَ يَلْقَوْنَ غَيًّا (Then they will fall into deviation.) غَي literally means deviation or moral degradation. That is, their values will gradually deteriorate. There will be a gradual descent from one stage of immorality to another. And then their final downfall will be in hell.

Most people will go to hell. It is mentioned in the Quran and the Sunnah. In Surah Saba verse 20- وَ لَقَدْ صَدَّقَ عَلَیۡهِمۡ اِبْلِیۡسُ ظَنَّهٗ فَاتَّبَعُوۡهُ اِلَّا فَرِیۡقًا مِّنَ الۡمُمُنِيۡنَ “Iblis proved his idea to God, except for a small number of people who will surrender themselves." So all of them followed him except a group of believers.”
Allah is saying here that Iblis' predictions about mankind have been proved true. The majority of mankind followed Iblis. Except for a small group of believers. Following Iblis is the default condition of mankind.
The majority of the human race is not interested in working towards a goal greater than this life. Most people are content to live like animals. When a man lives like an animal, he is worse than an animal. Because an animal has an excuse to be an animal. But what excuse do people have for living like animals? This is exactly why the punishment in hell is so terrible.
Also in Surah Sawad, Allah subhanahu wa ta'ala said to Iblish: "I will certainly fill Hell with you and all those who follow you among them (i.e., people)." (38:85) We also know from the Qur'an: "O Messenger of Allah!) No matter how much you earnestly desire, most people will not believe."
Excerpted from the discussion by Shaykh Hamza Yusuf
There are many statements in the Qur'an where Allah says, If someone does such and such, he will go to hell. These are threats.Allah fulfills his promises. If he does not fulfill the threat, it will not diminish his greatness. But if he does not fulfill the promise, it will diminish his greatness.
Scholars give examples like this. For example, a king of the world became extremely angry with someone and said,If such a person comes here, I will cut off his head." But when the man came, he forgave him. No one will then say, "Look! The king has not fulfilled his promise." People will see this as a good quality of the king. People will say he is a kind king. Therefore, Allah threatens. But he does not have to fulfill these threats. (He fulfills if he wills, but does not fulfill if he does not.) But when He makes a promise, He must fulfill that promise.
On the other hand, the thing to fear is that Allah has promised to fill Hell. But this I say is certainly true: I will surely fill Hell with both jinn and mankind." 32:13] This is not a threat; it is a promise from Allah. So, people should be careful about this.
