Suddenly one day a young man met an old man on the way. The young man advanced a little and politely asked the old man,

Sir, do you recognize me?

The old man replied, No father! I didn't recognize you. Then the old man asked, "Who are you?"

Then the young man said, “I was once your student.

And well! The old man asked the young man what he was doing now. The young man replied very politely, "I am a teacher. I am currently teaching."

Hearing this from the mouth of the former student, the old teacher was very happy and said, "Wow! That's enough! Very good! Very good! You're just like me!"

The young man replied with a soft smile, "Yes. Actually, I feel blessed to have a teacher like you." Then the young man went on to explain the reason behind it and said, "You have inspired me to be like you, sir!"

When the old teacher wanted to know the reason behind the young man's becoming a teacher with some curiosity, the young man told the story of his becoming a teacher and reminded the old teacher of the old school incident. While narrating the events of the old days, the young man addressed the old teacher and said,

One day a classmate of mine, who was also your student, came to class with a new wristwatch. Her watch was so beautiful that I couldn't resist the temptation. I decided I wanted the watch anyway. Then, by chance, I stole the watch from his pocket.

After some time, that friend of mine noticed the absence of his watch and immediately complained to our sir, i.e., you. Hearing his complaint, you said to the class, "This student's watch was stolen during class today; whoever stole it, return the watch."
I could not return the watch despite your instructions.

Because the watch was very attractive to me, and we were very poor and could not afford such a watch. Then you closed the door and asked everyone to leave the benches and stand up in a circle in the middle of the classroom floor and instructed everyone to close their eyes. Then you went through all of our pockets one by one until the watch was found. We all stood silently as per your instructions.

While checking the pockets one by one, when you put your hand in my pocket and found the watch, my body was shaking with fear and shame. But at that moment, even after getting the watch in my pocket, you didn't say anything and were checking everyone's pockets till the last student. Finally, you told everyone that the clock had been found; now you can all open your eyes.

After finding the watch, my friend asked you, "In whose pocket was the watch found? But you told him it doesn't matter whose pocket the watch was found in. What matters is that your watch was found.

You never spoke to me about the events of that day. You didn't even scold me for that. You did not take me to any schoolroom to teach morals. That incident was the most shameful day of my life. But you very cleverly, cunningly recovered the stolen watch and saved my dignity forever.

After that incident, I suffered from regret for a long time. Even though the effects of the incident in the class have passed that day, its impact remains in my mind. I have been stung again and again in the war of conscience. Then I decided never to do these immoral things again. Will be a good person. I will be a teacher. I will be a craftsman in the true sense of making people. I got a clear message from you that day on what kind of educator one should be. I learned from you that people can be corrected without insults. Your kindness and magnanimity have made me sit as a teacher today.

Tears rolled down the eyes of the old teacher after listening to the words of the former student! The teacher said with a gentle smile while wiping away the tears, "Yes, I remember that incident. But I did not remember you, because at that time not only your eyes but also mine were closed."

Then the teacher sighed and said,
"You say, father, can any teacher see childlike students as thieves? The teacher wants to see his students as heroes and feel proud."

"There is no greatness in insulting someone. If there is real greatness, it is in saving someone from being insulted. It creates the opportunity for the person who is saved from being insulted to become a good person."
