Ask yourself, Did you do anything better than last week?
Amal-Ibadah has increased somewhat compared to before?
How much have you been able to correct yourself?
Is there any charity that you have done completely selflessly just for the sake of Allah?
Are there any secret deeds that are only intended to please your Lord?
Allah Ta'ala says: "Rather, man himself knows best about himself."(Surah Qiyamah: 14)
Allah Ta'ala also said,
"On that day you will be presented (before Allah for accounting and recompense), then nothing will be hidden from you." (Surah Al-Haqqah, Verse No. 18)
Take at least one day of self-examination, criticize all your actions, and practice accountability to yourself.
If you do this, you will improve spiritually, your actions will change greatly, and above all, you will advance on the path to paradise, in sha Allah.
The Messenger of Allah, may God bless him and grant him peace, said: He is wise who controls his soul and works for the time after death. And that person is foolish and incompetent who follows the demands of his soul and hopes in vain in Allah Ta'ala.(Sunan at-Tirmidhi: 2459)
Umar Ibnul Khattab (R.A.) said,
“Before you face the reckoning, take stock of your deeds and prepare to appear in the great assembly. "Whoever takes account of himself in this world, his account on the Day of Resurrection will be very light and easy." (Muhasabatun Nafs-Ibn Abid Dunya, page 29, Hadith No. 2/ Az-Juhud Lil Imam Ahmad, page 120)
Maimun Ibn Mihran said,
No one can be a true Muttaki unless he criticizes himself. For example, a person takes a thorough account of his body from where he has procured food and clothes.(Note Sunan at-Tirmidhi:2459)
Put yourself in the frame of your own conscience, and then you will see clearly where there is a problem in yourself. And by doing this, it is possible to correct yourself very easily.
May God bless you.
